Who We are
The What The Film Club team are all volunteers that love getting weird with film and exploring the wonderful world of cult, trash, low-budget and genre cinema. Come say hello to us at our screenings!

Lee Bentham
Lee is a lover of all things absurd. The screenings are a great way for him to practice bizarre arts and crafts projects. He currently works for Leeds Film as the Development and Communications Officer and is an organising member of Scalarama Leeds.
Previously he worked for Sheffield DocFest, was a bartender at Everyman Cinema Leeds and ran the video department at a summer arts camp in the US. In his spare time he likes to write and perform rap songs about his cat, to his cat. She thinks he’s gonna make it big one day.

DAniel JOhnson
Daniel is a freelance videographer by day who’s been obsessed with silly, fun, gory, over the top B-movies ever since he watched The Evil Dead as a precocious teen.
He’s a strong believer that if a film is ‘so-bad-its-good’ that just means that it’s ‘good’ (with some exceptions, looking at you ‘THE ROOM’) and one day hopes to create a horror movie of his own that’s gonzo enough to be part of the What The Film Club line-up.

Rob Molloy
Rob is the tech wizard for What The Film Club and many other groups and people in the Leeds DIY film scene.
Before this he used to be part of CHUNK – a former music co-op based in Leeds that ran on love and noise. He is part of the Scalarama Leeds organising team and gets stuck into lots of events and gigs around the city. He also throws his special events and film nights, usually with a twist…

Rich Pearson
Rich is is a pole-dancing, dumpster fire drag queen who personally identifies as “Fabutrash”. We put Rich to work behind-the-scenes at screenings, helping to make sure everything goes well on the night and usually get roped into cutting/glueing/sewing/melting/decorating/heavy lifting (in that order). They might even get dragged up for the occasional screening. Find them on Instagram here.
